Hello! Let me introduce you to Performa Palooza, an app designed to bring memorable moments to your loved one’s doorstep. The team consisted of three designers for our group project in boot camp over three weeks to create a mid-fidelity prototype. I assisted throughout the design including research, user persona creation, wireframing, and user testing.
People like to gift thoughtful experiences, such as flowers or singing telegrams. How might we make an app so users can send memorable experiences right to their loved ones' doorstep?
Our primary goal was to empower people to give memorable gifts. Our initial research identified that people prefer memorable experiences over material gifts especially live entertainment. This led to us designing an app where users could connect directly with local talent and have them come to their loved ones' locations.
Connecting the user with the perfect entertainer was the most important feature of this app. We went with a simple card layout divided into categories. We also included a filter and search bar to quickly locate entertainers. We aimed to keep the search functions simple, yet powerful, which tested well during user testing.
Our vision included using the app as an entertainer as well, but due to time constraints, we only developed the initial talent signup. We kept the process simple since entertainers would have to be reviewed by the company and would receive a follow-up by a representative if the entertainer met the qualifications.
Given more time, we would have liked to design what the app would have looked like from the entertainer’s perspective. The goal of the project was to design a mid-fi prototype and further testing and development of a high-fidelity prototype would have been interesting.
